Scenting Guide For Adding Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils to Skin Care Products
How much of an ingredient do I add to a product?
The following table lists the industry guidelines for adding Essential Oils or Fragrance Oils to organic and natural skin care bases. When adding fragrance oils, essential oils or other ingredients to a stable base, start slow adding
the lowest amount of product. Record the amount that you add in your logbook to refer back to replicate your final formula. Some bases such as jellies, shampoo, and gel based facial cleanser and conditioners can be very finicky about the pH level. If you dilute the product too much it will cause some bases to liquefy. Once a base liquefies into a water-like substance, there is no remedy.
